The Q-Kits Phone Line Monitor is a build-it-yourself kit.
A low power (20 to 40 watt) soldering iron is required.

Have you ever had someone in your
house pick up an extension while you were sending out a fax?
Have you ever sat waiting for the Internet to do something, only to find
out you've been disconnected?
The Q-Kits Phone Line Monitor lets you know whether your telephone line is in use.
You can even mount it inside your telephone if there's enough room for a 9 volt battery. Or add a standard modular phone connector (RJ11/14) and plug it into any phone outlet.
The Q-Kits Phone Line Monitor is an easy-to-build kit, with all the components included. Connect a 9 volt battery to the battery snap provided, and connect to telephone line.
If you have any experience soldering electronic components you'll build the Phone Line Monitor in a few minutes. If you've always wanted to try your hand at kit building, this is a great way to get started.
Tools you'll need: low power soldering iron (20-40 watts), rosin core solder (not plumber's solder), wire nippers to cut off excess wire leads after soldering, and a few inches of small gauge wire. Nine volt battery and case not included.
